The Department of Horticulture was opened in 1975 AD and began to expand in all delicate disciplines in horticulture by preparing qualified scientific cadres with equipping laboratories and providing them with all modern scientific equipment for use in the fields of research and teaching. The department aims to:

Formation of scientific cadres specialized in various horticultural fields (fruits, vegetables, ornamental plants, landscaping, harvesting, storage and circulation of horticultural crops).

Contribute to solving agricultural problems and developing appropriate solutions.

Providing scientific studies and consultations and evaluating productive projects.
