On Monday, January 7, 2019, at the main meeting room, the University Council held its first meeting this year. The meeting was attended by Dr. Nabeel Al-Natah, President of Tripoli University, Dr. Mabrouk Faris, president deputy for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Uzi, president deputy for Medical faculties and Dr. Ibrahim Abufayed . the president deputy for Humanities, Professor Ayman Omar, president deputy for students affairst,  engineer, Tawfiq Kamuka, the undersecretary, the general registrar, the president of the faculty members, the deans of the faculties and the head of the quality office. During the meeting, the minutes of meeting of the Twelfth Meeting of the Council of Tripoli University for the year 2019 was approved. A presentation was made on the proposal of the guide for standards and procedures for the classification of the University of Tripoli for the academic and administrative units along with discussing the letter of the dean of the Faculty of Medicine on the possibility of approving the return of the faculty to the school year system.  In addition, the meeting discussed the letter of the Head of Finance and Banking Department of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, relating to the adoption of changing the name of the Department of Finance and banks instead of banks and insurance.
