In my name and on behalf of my fellow faculty members in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Human Medicine, I welcome you to the page of the department. The department was established in 1977, the department, praise be to God, is moving towards scientific and academic excellence to achieve competition at the level of universities locally and internationally.
This ancient department provides great services to the women of the Libyan society in terms of regular and complex gynecological and childbirth operations that require highly skilled expertise, in addition to its basic mission of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students to graduate doctors with a high level of professionalism and high-quality performance.
In this department, we pledged to God to give and give for the advancement of this department and the Faculty of Human Medicine, University of Tripoli and to transfer our experiences and knowledge to successive generations to continue the procession of giving to provide the best services to society. Our mission is education and patient service.
I would like to thank the Dean of the faculty of Medicine for his dedication and work day and night for the advancement and progression of all departments of the faculty, as well as his unlimited support for faculty members, teaching assistants and staff in order to raise the status of the faculty and elevate it to a prestigious status comparable to the best universities locally and internationally.

A. Continuous evaluation and change of educational strategies.
i. Changing teaching methods from classical teaching toward more new methods such as, student directed learning and problem based learning.
ii. Changing methods of assessment.
iii. Active participation of students in patients care.
B. Introducing new technology into education techniques such as, computers, smart boards, simulators, and the internet.
C. Improving the quality of teaching by providing courses and workshops for teachers.
D. Sharing experience with international departments.
Mission
Providing high quality education for medical students to graduate professionals who are competent to enter the field of obstetrics and gynecology and are able to adopt lifelong learning

The aim of our department is to offer the following:
