About Department of Apecial education

Based on the responsibilities of the university towards the community in general and what it offers to individuals with special needs in particular, the special education department was established in the academic year 2007-2008. The department began offering its educational programs and plans to become one of the specialized departments of the College of Education at this university. It was created to prepare trained human resources capable of rehabilitating, educating, and training children with special needs, in line with the global trend of human rights and equal opportunities for all individuals in education and employment. The department aims to keep up with the latest developments in this field to be able to adapt to the changes around us, especially in an era witnessing significant progress in the field of special education. One of its main objectives is to elevate the level of students in the field of special education, enhance their academic level, and serve other departments in accordance with their requirements for common courses. Upon completing 139 units (including specialized courses, general courses, and some educational courses qualifying the student for teaching), the student is awarded a bachelor's degree in education. The department aspires to open the doors for higher studies in the field of special education, develop scientific research in this field, and serve the community and the environment.
